'Experience and Passion': Hunter Biden Becomes Advisor to Hollywood Drug Treatment Center

The son of former US President Joe Biden, 56-year-old Hunter, who has a history of alcoholism and drug addiction, has become an adviser to the Peak Path Health rehabilitation center in Los Angeles, California, as well as executive director of its charitable foundation, the organization said. Biden Jr., who has gone viral on social media in recent weeks, confirmed on his X (formerly Twitter) page that his foundation with the clinic will provide follow-up care for discharged patients.

Hunter Biden, during his father's presidency, was involved in a number of scandals and criminal cases, in particular, for the illegal purchase of weapons and tax evasion. The former lawyer and businessman escaped punishment through a presidential pardon. These topics, as well as his past drug addiction and employment with the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, became reasons for active criticism from the political opponents of Biden Sr. in the Republican Party.

The clinic in Los Angeles positions itself as elite and is located in the Hollywood Hills. At the helm of the foundation, Biden will focus on “expanding support, advocacy, education and public relations,” the press release noted.

“Celebrating seven years of sobriety in June 2026, he will bring personal experience and passion for expanding access to behavioral health rehabilitation and healthcare,” Peak Path Health said.

The organization recalled that Biden Jr. was a former teacher and worked in the leadership of the US World Food Program (WFP), which cooperates with the UN. According to a statement from Peak Path Health, the foundation, led by the former president's son, will, in particular, seek temporary and permanent housing for discharged patients, as well as training them to expand career opportunities.

Hunter Biden mentioned his new job in a reply to one of the X users who accused him of being idle. The former president's son stressed that he has “several jobs,” including Peak Path Health, which he called a “phenomenal rehabilitation facility,” and Basta Universal, an organization that helps homeless people in Los Angeles. He added that he writes and sells paintings, is preparing two books and plans to launch his own podcast.

As RTVI.US previously wrote, in June, a number of Biden Jr.’s publications on social networks received millions of views. The son of the former Democratic president, in particular, managed to joke about political ambitions and presidential nomination in 2028.

The growing interest in Hunter Biden has also been fueled by his appearances on podcasts, including those from the opposite political camp. In May, he gave an interview to blogger Candace Owens, and on Thursday he said that he would be glad to talk with Joe Rogan and explain why he opposed holding a UFC fight near the White House on President Donald Trump's birthday.

The other day, Biden Jr. said in an interview with actor Dax Shepard on his podcast that he regrets working for the Ukrainian company Burisma. He emphasized that he did not see any signs of crime or corruption in the transactions in which he participated, but noted that he agreed to join the board of directors of Burisma at the insistence of former Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski.

“This was clearly a mistake – but not because of any actions on my part or on the part of my father,” Hunter Biden commented on the decision, which ultimately served as the reason for the Republicans’ attempt to impeach his father.
