The Lollapalooza music festival has started in Grant Park in the American city of Chicago (Illinois), which will last until Sunday, August 2. RTVI has prepared a certificate about which famous artists are performing in 2026 and where you can watch the concerts.
The first day of Lollapalooza 2026 took place on Thursday, July 30th. Headlining the main stage was New Zealand singer Lorde, who released her fourth studio album Virgin last year. The singer's set on the main stage of the festival was joined by Briton Charli XCX, with whom she performed the 2024 collaboration Girl, So Confusing.
Another duet of the day was the joint performance of the boy band 5 Seconds of Summer of the song She Looks So Perfect with one of the main pop sensations of recent years, Sombr. Taylor Swift previously called herself a fan of the 21-year-old singer's work, and he reciprocated this year by performing at her induction ceremony into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
On Friday, July 31, Charli XCX will be the last to appear on the main stage with a solo show (it is unknown whether Lorde will join her now), and the second most important stage will be closed by the cult rockers of the 1990s The Smashing Pumpkins. Other speakers include Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson, American rapper Freddie Gibbs, and outrageous British pop-punk Yungblud. Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard is scheduled to perform on the Airbnb stage in the middle of the day.
Headlining Saturday, August 1, will be Briton Olivia Dean and South Korean K-pop star Jennie of Blackpink. In addition to her, the popular genre at Lollapalooza is represented this year by the girl bands I-dle (July 31) and Aespa (August 2), as well as the boy band Cortis (August 1). On the first day of the festival, Filipino idols from the group SB19 presented their songs to the audience.
The main performances of the final day, August 2, are the shows of Canadian Tate McRae and veterans of British indie pop The XX. Electronic musicians Duke Dumont and The Chainsmokers will also perform on Sunday, among others.
You won't be able to watch live broadcasts of concerts at Lollapalooza 2026 without a subscription to the Disney+ or Hulu streaming services. Unlike its “older friend,” Hulu previously provided a free trial period, however, as The Hollywood Reporter (THR) notes, amid plans to merge the two applications, the promotion was canceled at the end of July. In the US, the cheapest subscription to both Disney+ and Hulu is $11.99 per month.
The full schedule of broadcasts on the two channels can be found on the Lollapalooza website (by the way, not all performances are broadcast). The Smashing Pumpkins will take the stage on Friday, July 31 at 8:30 p.m., followed by Charli XCX at 9:10 p.m. Jenny's August 1 performance will begin at 10:05 pm, and Aespa's August 2 performance will begin at 7:45 pm.
