Buying budget headphones is always a compromise. Obviously, no brand will offer top-notch sound for cheap, but it is possible to find a model with quite decent sound at an affordable price. Looking at the description of the Anker soundcore Life Q30 wireless headphones, I want to believe that this is the very option.
Package Life Q30
The headphones come in a small cardboard box without any special frills, inside which you can find:
- a case for transporting headphones;
- the headphones themselves;
- a long cable for connection with a mini jack 3.5 mm;
- a short cable for charging USB Type-C.
In general, a standard set with exactly one bonus. The manufacturer did not skimp on adding a case for transportation. It is rigid, and the headphones take up very little space when folded. This is a plus.

Design and convenience
Soundcore Q30 has a pleasant, discreet design. The main material is plain matte plastic, which is diluted only by a metal headband and leatherette ear pads. The design is foldable, can be folded for comfortable wearing around the neck or in a case/backpack. All elements are well fitted to each other, the build quality does not cause any complaints.
The headphones are controlled by physical buttons. It is not as modern as touch control, but it is reliable – without false alarms and problems with winter frosts. On the left “ear” there are buttons for power and noise suppression, on the right – pause and volume controls, they are also track switches.
Although the model does have one touch feature – this is the “Transparency” mode, which allows you to hear everything that is happening around. To turn it on, just bring your palm to the right “ear”. Very convenient in case you need to, for example, safely cross the road.
The model is full-size, so when unfolded, the headphones are quite massive, but at the same time light – some 260 grams. They sit loosely on the head, fit tightly and do not put too much pressure on the ears. In everyday use, the Q30 turned out to be very comfortable, but when playing sports, there is a high risk that the headphones will fly off and break. So athletes are better off looking for some in-ear model.
Wireless connection Life Q30
The headphones are connected via Bluetooth 5.0 with the most common codecs SBC and AAC. There is also NFC, this technology is needed for the gadget to instantly connect to the smartphone. There are no questions about the quality of the connection itself – it works equally well on both the iPhone and some Xiaomi. By the way, you can connect the headphones to several devices at the same time – I don’t really need it, but someone will probably find it useful.
Sound quality Life Q30
It’s high time to move on to the key characteristic of any headphones – sound quality. And the first listening immediately greets us with overly pronounced, powerful bass. This is especially noticeable at maximum volume, when the head literally begins to vibrate with the music. Therefore, it is worth launching the soundcore application and shamanizing with the equalizer.
Slightly muffle the bass, twist the highs – and the sound is really transformed. At the output, we get a good, juicy sound. Clean high frequencies, pleasant, powerful bass. This is especially noticeable when listening to electronic music.
If you have ever used more expensive models, you will notice that the Q30 slightly lacks detail, but it is foolish to expect more from headphones in the lower price segment. The existing sound level is already a leap above your head. Our respect to the manufacturer.
Noise reduction and microphone Life Q30
The noise reduction system is also in full order. It effectively cuts off the sounds of passing cars and the hubbub of the crowd. The noise reduction has 3 settings, each is supposed to be suitable for certain conditions:
- Transport.
- Indoors.
- Outdoors.
In fact, there is no difference at all between the available modes. Either this is an illusion of wide possibilities, or just a reserve for the future – it is possible that with one of the next software updates the difference will be more noticeable.
Autonomy Life Q30
The capacity of the built-in battery is 720 mAh. And the numbers that the manufacturer provides correspond to reality. A full charge of the headphones is enough for about 60 hours of continuous listening, if you do not use the noise canceling system. But with the active noise canceling system, the same charge will last for about 35-40 hours. A very cool indicator for wireless headphones.
A separate plus is the presence of fast charging. Connect the headphones for just 5 minutes, and you can safely listen to music for another 4 hours. A full charge takes 2 hours.
