The regional operational headquarters of the Kursk region decided to evacuate the Glushkiv district.

The authorities of the Kursk region of Russia announced the mandatory evacuation of the entire Glushkiv region bordering Ukraine due to the worsening security situation. This was announced by the acting governor of the Kursk region Oleksiy Smirnov.

According to the decision of the regional operational headquarters, the coordination of the evacuation process is entrusted to the security forces, the local administration and the soldiers of the Kursk “Patriot” center.

“Dear compatriots, I ask you to understand the current situation and follow all the recommendations of security forces and local authorities”, wrote Smirnov.

Glushkiv district is located in the southwestern part of the Kursk region, bordering Suzhan district. The administrative center is the village of Glushkovo, which is located 10 km from the border with Ukraine and 150 km from Kursk.

Residents of Suzhan, Glushkiv, Ryl and Koreniv districts have already been evacuated in the Kursk region. All of them border Ukraine.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories has opened a 24-hour hotline for residents of Kursk Oblast who need humanitarian aid or want to evacuate to Ukraine.

As reported, on August 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on the situation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Among other things, the creation of military commanders, if necessary, was discussed.

Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, said that the creation of military command posts in the Kursk region is necessary, in particular, to provide humanitarian aid to local residents.
