Taylor Swift's wedding: groom Travis Kelsey couldn't hold back his tears, and Paul McCartney sang a rare Beatles song

New details of the wedding of American pop star Taylor Swift and American football player Travis Kelsey have appeared in the media. One of the speakers at the event on Friday, July 3, was 84-year-old Paul McCartney, who performed The Beatles' song “I Want to Hold Your Hand” for the first time since the 1960s, sources told Today and People.

As RTVI previously reported, another musical guest was Fleetwood Mac lead singer Stevie Nicks, but Swift herself, contrary to past rumors, did not take the stage. According to two guests who spoke to Today, she and Kelsey performed a rock number only at Thursday's wedding rehearsal.

Sources also said that the newlyweds themselves composed the text of the vows of fidelity and Swift partially sang them. The athlete groom, according to them, cried more than the bride.

“You would think the bride would cry more, but in reality Travis was more sensitive,” one Today source noted.

According to the publication, guests at the event at Madison Square Garden in New York were served food from Swift and Kelsey's two favorite restaurants in the city. The wedding was also not complete without games – the sources did not specify their essence, but they said that lottery tickets were given for winning.

They could be immediately used in a drawing for prizes, among which was a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, in which the newlyweds went on their first date. The car, by the way, was seen leaving the hall shortly after the end of the celebration, however, who won it is unknown. Old slot machines were also unloaded from the hall, Yahoo Entertainment adds.

Official photographs from the closed event have not yet appeared, but many guests began to share pictures of their images at the holiday and their impressions. Country music star Kelsea Ballerini called the wedding “the most beautiful” and said she couldn't stop “dancing and crying.”

Today’s interlocutors noted that VIP guests, of whom there were at least 1,000, entered the arena through a tunnel with photographs of the bride and groom from different years, including children’s, and then found themselves in their “secret garden.” Many took home napkins with the couple's initials T&T as souvenirs. Wedding planner Edward Perotti told People that the celebration could have cost the 36-year-old billionaire singer and athlete between $35 million and $50 million.
