The farewell program for American singer Oliver Tree, who died in a plane crash in Brazil, will include live performances by his fellow musicians, a screening of unreleased videos and some other “surprises,” according to a flyer for the event, which will be held in the artist’s hometown of Santa Cruz in California, published on his Instagram.
The advert also states that guests will be given the opportunity to say goodbye to Tree's characters, who will be displayed in individual coffins. The singer, who died at 32, was known for his love of absurd and black humor in his work. The event as a whole is billed as “Oliver Tree's Celebration of Life.”
“Expect the unexpected,” the flyer also reads, which also mentions “surprises” under the “live performances” section.
As TMZ notes, his relatives, fellow bloggers Logan Paul, Aaron Mercury and Ethan Klein, as well as musician Diplo, will speak in memory of Tree at the July 25 event. Who exactly will play the music at the ceremony has not yet been specified.
Tickets for the farewell, which will take place at the UC Santa Cruz campus amphitheater, can be purchased through Tri's official website. Proceeds will benefit Dr. Oliver Tree's Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses. The singer mentioned this point of his will in an interview shortly before his death.
As RTVI previously wrote, the farewell to Tri will be broadcast on the Internet. It will begin at 7:30 a.m. Pacific Time (PST) or 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time (EST) on his official YouTube and Twitch channels. The performer, known for the hits Life Goes On and Miss You, died on June 14 along with five other people in a collision between two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro.
