The Migration Agency under the Government of Uzbekistan has signed a cooperation agreement with a large US recruiting company, according to the agency’s website. The parties agreed on the training and employment of Uzbek citizens for seasonal agricultural work under a program specially provided for this.

It is currently unknown which company will carry out the recruitment. However, it is known that the project will develop training programs taking into account the needs of employers, as well as organize English language training and conduct vocational training. The practical skills of all candidates will be assessed on the basis of a joint certification system and “transparent mechanisms for the selection and referral of workers.”

“The Migration Agency will ensure the selection of candidates, their training on US labor legislation and working conditions, as well as the timely return of our citizens to their homeland after completion of seasonal work,” the Uzbek department emphasized.

Information about the initial requirements of employers and the registration procedure for participation in these works in the United States will be published in a separate Telegram channel “XORIJDA ISH,” the agency clarified. Selected candidates will enter the United States on an H-2A visa. It allows United States employers or agents to bring foreign nationals into the country to perform temporary agricultural work.

“The work must be temporary or seasonal in nature, and the applicant must demonstrate that there are not enough workers in the United States who could perform the temporary or seasonal work if they were able, willing, and qualified,” reads the visa description on the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website.
