The series “The Pitt” became the leader in the number of nominations for the 2026 American television Emmy Award. The multi-episode drama “One of Many” (Pluribus) from “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan will also compete for awards, and actor Connor Storry, known for “Heated Rivalry,” will compete for the award despite the series’ inconsistency with the conditions.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, the obstacle to Heated Rivalry's path to the Emmy was set by the regulation that all shows must have American financing. The series about the relationship between Russian and Canadian hockey players was originally released on a Canadian streaming site before HBO Max began streaming it.

26-year-old Storry, who played the role of Ilya Rozanov, was able to become an Emmy nominee for the first time in his career thanks to his participation in the American comedy program Saturday Night Live. The actor was nominated for Best Guest Actor in the Comedy Show category.

“Pitt Hospital” received 25 nominations, “Cunning” received 24, and “Widow’s Cove” received 19. “One of Many,” which tells the story of a New Mexico resident resistant to an alien virus, will compete for awards in 18 categories, including “Best Serial Drama.”

Actors Charlie Hunnam and Laurie Metcalf, who starred in “The Ed Gein Story,” will compete for individual awards in their respective categories. The series became the third season of the Netflix anthology “Monster” about American maniacs.

Gein, who stole body parts from graves to decorate his home and pleaded guilty to at least two murders in 1957, is considered the inspiration for characters in the films Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Silence of the Lambs.

Comedian Stephen Colbert's late-night show on CBS, which ended in scandal in May of this year, received nine nominations, a record for the program.

The Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on September 14 in Los Angeles. The show will be hosted by actress Mariska Hargitay.
