“What a loser”: Biden sharply criticized Trump for the first time in a long time

Former US President Joe Biden publicly criticized Donald Trump for the first time in a long time, calling the current head of the White House “vain and corrupt,” as well as a “loser.” During a speech at a Democratic Party fundraiser in Maryland, Biden accused his successor of undermining the international authority of the United States, destroying NATO and using the presidency for personal gain.

According to the Democrat, Trump is “deliberately destroying” the North Atlantic Alliance and prefers Russian President Vladimir Putin to US allies. Biden also said that the current head of the White House has undermined the authority of the United States in the eyes of the world community “more than any other president in history.” The Democrat called the undertakings of the 47th president “vain.”

“His projects are vanity. He demolished the East Wing of the White House to make room for his dressing room. He placed his figure in the center of Kennedy, built [Триумфальную] arch in his honor, even hired his own people to fix the Mirror Pond. Wow, what a loser,” Biden said.

As RTVI.US reported, on the site of the demolished East Wing there will be a ballroom with an underground complex of six floors, a drone port on the roof and titanium fences around the building. Trump initially said construction would cost $200 million, then the cost rose to $400 million, and at the end of April, Senate Republicans intended to allocate $1 billion for “modernization and improvement of security systems,” including to support the project – but the initiative was blocked.

The decision to add Trump’s name to the name of the Kennedy Center was made at the end of 2025 by the new composition of the institution’s board of trustees – the Republican, after returning to the White House, replaced all its members and himself became chairman. However, in June 2026, the name of the head of state was removed by court decision.

For the 250th anniversary of US independence, on the instructions of the head of state, a triumphal arch was erected near the Washington border with Arlington Cemetery. Also, the head of the White House began the reconstruction of the Mirror Pool at the Lincoln Memorial, which cost seven times more than the president initially expected. The initial cost was $1.8 million, but then increased to $14.6 million, while the reservoir turned green again a few days after the cleanup work.

“In this pond [Зеркальном] reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the heart of this administration. This is arrogance and outright corruption. Corruption on a scale never seen in any administration in American history. Trump has made billions of dollars,” Biden emphasized.

Biden's 10-minute speech was one of his sharpest criticisms of Trump since leaving the presidency, CNN notes. At the same time, the TV channel mentioned the difficulties in the life of the ex-head of state, including the fight against an aggressive form of prostate cancer with metastases in the bones, as well as the treatment of his son Hunter for alcohol and drug addiction.

At the time of writing this material, there was no response from Trump himself, but the New York Post, which the Republican called his favorite newspaper, ridiculed the end of Biden’s speech in Maryland. The publication writes that the 83-year-old democrat “leaned on the teleprompter, squinted from time to time,” and when leaving the stage he “almost got lost,” asking where exactly he needed to go.

Let us recall that talk about possible problems with Biden’s mental health intensified after his lawsuit against the US Department of Justice in order to prevent the publication of audio recordings and transcripts of conversations with the ex-president’s biographer. During these conversations, he shared, among other things, secret information, which became the object of a special investigation into its disclosure. As part of that investigation, special prosecutor Robert Hure wrote a nearly 400-page report in which he wrote that the former president's memory was “severely limited.” Later, an audio recording of Biden’s interview with Hur was also published, from which some media outlets concluded that the democrat had memory lapses.
