Police in the US state of West Virginia arrested a 20-year-old user of the social network for gamers Discord for possessing erotic photos and videos of a naked teenager. According to WBOY TV, the searches at Garrett Highlander's place came after nearly 50 complaints were received against him for attempting to “exchange child porn” online and sending out such materials.
According to investigators, Highlander registered on the social network under the nicknames MrChildPorn (“Mr. Child Porn”) and MrToxix (“Mr. Toxicity”). He “bragged about his huge collection of child pornography” to other users and sent some such materials without warning in private messages, hoping for a similar response.
Law enforcement also determined that the young man was focused on searching for images of naked babies and hoped to find them using artificial intelligence (AI) built into the Discord application.

During interrogation, Highlander stated that he was allegedly “engaged in trolling” and in fact he was not interested in prohibited materials. A 32-second video and several photographs of a naked teenage girl between 15 and 17 years old were found on the young man’s smartphone, WV News adds.
There were also visible cuts on her body – Highlander admitted that he entered chat rooms related to forcing teenagers to self-harm (self-harm), but was allegedly not “actively involved” in them.
Highlander was arrested at his home in Morgantown. The content found could be enough to carry a 15-year prison sentence under local law. The young man also faces a fine of up to $10,000. He will only be able to be released from prison before trial on bail of $100,000.
