American actor Brad Pitt's confessions about alcohol and suicidal thoughts have caused concern among his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. According to Heat World, the actress wants to help Pitt and is ready to involve her current lover, hypnotherapist and spiritual mentor Jim Curtis, for this purpose. According to the tabloid, after their divorce in 2005, Pitt and Aniston mended their relationship and developed a “special and unique bond.”
Pitt, 62, said in an interview with Esquire that after seven years of sobriety, he began drinking alcohol again, but is now trying to keep it in moderation. According to him, he became “more restrained” on this issue.
“I can have a few glasses. But I can't do too much. You have to deal with it professionally,” Pitt said.
The actor also admitted that in the past, for a short period, he had thoughts of suicide. At the same time, he emphasized that he considers himself an innate optimist and was not close to attempting suicide: the instinct of self-preservation, according to him, worked immediately. Nevertheless, Pitt described that period as extremely difficult – he “saw no way out”, and the pain seemed “unbearable” to him.
“I never thought about suicide, except for one short period. And in this short period I simply did not see a way out. The pain was unbearable, I wasn’t going to do anything, but it was like I felt a cold steel bullet in my head, and it brought relief,” he said.
Fans suggested that the actor could be referring to his breakup with Angelina Jolie in 2016. The former spouses have six children; in recent years, several of them have abandoned their father's surname. After breaking up with Jolie, the actor stopped drinking alcohol and completed a 12-step recovery program.
Heat World's sources say Aniston “still cares deeply about Brad” and wants to share with him the “spiritual healing” practices that have allegedly helped her.
“She knows him very well and sees that it’s really hard for him, so she wants to help. She cares deeply about him and wants to introduce him to the methods that have helped her. In many ways, it’s about working through trauma, the past and the ability to let go of the experience, which is what Jim specializes in,” the publication’s interlocutor said.
After the divorce, Pitt and Aniston gradually restored friendly relations. In 2020, they chatted at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and later that year they attended an online script reading for Fast Times at Ridgemont High. According to the source, Aniston hopes that Pitt will agree to accept Curtis's help.
“Jim is a very good person and he has absolutely no objections to working with Jen's ex-husband. And not just because it will make her happy: he sincerely sympathizes with Brad. The main question is whether Brad himself will be ready to open up to Jim,” the source said.
