The US Marshals Service arrested influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan in Miami, Florida, on a sealed warrant, the Associated Press (AP) reported. Against this backdrop, UK law enforcement authorities confirmed the filing of an additional 38 charges against the Tate brothers in a sex crimes case.
Andrew Tate, 39, and his brother Tristan, 38, were former kickboxers in the UK and have become prominent figures in the so-called manosphere on English-language social media.
Such content is aimed at young men who strive for wealth and success with women. Critics accused the brothers of misogyny and dubbed the elder Tate the king of toxic masculinity. The brothers have dual US and UK citizenship.
After the British authorities opened a criminal investigation into sex crimes, the Tate brothers moved to Romania, but they also soon faced similar charges there. Last year, the influencers returned to the United States, and the media speculated about possible intervention by US President Donald Trump in their release from arrest. In June of this year, the Tate brothers visited Russia against the backdrop of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

New charges were brought against the brothers by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the UK. The elder Tate is charged with seven counts of rape, three counts of organizing or facilitating sex trafficking, three counts of assault causing great bodily harm and 19 additional counts of offenses related to indecent images of children (called child porn) and extreme pornography.
His brother, Tristan, is charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of organizing or facilitating sex trafficking.
The head of the CPS Serious Crime Unit, Malcolm McHaffie, said the decisions to bring charges were made after additional criminal case files were received from Bedfordshire Police in the UK, bringing the total number of alleged victims to seven.
“There is no place for male violence against women and girls, and we will continue to work tirelessly to support victims and investigate all allegations made to us,” British police said.
Previously, Andrew Tate was charged with three counts of rape, six counts of causing bodily harm and two counts of human trafficking. Tristan Tate was charged with three counts of rape, four counts of causing bodily harm, two counts of human trafficking, and organizing prostitution for profit. According to the prosecutor's office, the crimes were committed from July 2010 to August 2017.
The British side requested the extradition of the Tates. They are expected to appear in court in Florida early next week. The brothers' lawyer, Joseph McBride, called the new allegations “an abomination and slander” in a comment to the AP and said he could not yet contact clients. Andrew Tate was preparing to host a bare-knuckle boxing tournament in Miami at the time of his July 18 arrest.
