American rapper Kanye West (also known as Ye) announced on X (formerly Twitter) that his concert in Almaty (Kazakhstan) was being postponed amid bad weather that followed widespread electricity problems in the city. The performance, for which fans gathered at the Central Stadium on Friday, will now take place on Saturday, August 15.
The concert on August 14 was previously in jeopardy due to a blackout in Almaty and a number of other regions of Kazakhstan. As reported by the portal Tengrinews.kz, the Ministry of Energy explained the situation by the activation of emergency automation due to a sharp surge in voltage in the power system.
Power supply was restored in the evening, but the city was hit by heavy rain and strong winds. Footage on social networks showed fans of the rapper gathering in the stands in raincoats and a sagging inflatable stage in the shape of a globe, where West is performing on his current tour.

“To the people of Almaty – due to weather conditions, today’s concert has been postponed to tomorrow. Health and safety are a priority. See you tomorrow,” West wrote on his official X account.
West previously apologized for his active support of Nazism and Adolf Hitler last year, released the album Bully and went on tour with it. The rapper's concerts in a number of European countries ultimately did not take place due to protests from local residents and politicians who refused to accept the apology. West attributed the offensive remarks and songs with Nazi slogans to a worsening bipolar disorder, for which he is now undergoing therapy.
