Director Quentin Tarantino wrote a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The book is called “The Adventures of Cliff Booth” and will be published on December 8 by Harper – about two weeks before the premiere of the sequel of the same name on Netflix, reports the Associated Press.

The novel will be a novelization of the film “The Adventures of Cliff Booth”, the script for which was also written by Tarantino. Directed by David Fincher. The film will be shown in IMAX theaters on November 25 and will be available on Netflix on December 23.

The former Hollywood stuntman is played by Brad Pitt, who played the character in 2019's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Harper said the new book represents “Tarantino's creative vision of the story in novel form.” Plot details have not yet been revealed, but the publisher has already provided an annotation.

“The roaring sixties are long behind us, but Clifford Booth continues to go his own way. War hero, stuntman, bartender, projectionist, and from time to time also the executor of some secret orders from friends,” the annotation says.

For Tarantino, this is not the first experience of transferring his own film stories into a literary format. In 2021, he released a novel based on his film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The book contains details that are not in the film – in particular, it says that Booth managed to escape punishment for murder several times, and it also directly states that he killed his wife.

The director refused to make a new film about Booth. Tarantino has repeatedly said that he intends to limit his career to ten feature films. He now has nine films in his filmography, and, according to Tarantino, he did not want his last directorial work to be a sequel.

Tarantino is known as the director of Pulp Fiction, the Kill Bill duology, Inglourious Basterds and Reservoir Dogs. His latest directorial work to date is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. After the release of the film, Tarantino wrote two novels based on his own scripts, and also published the book Cinema Speculation, which combines film criticism, essays and memoirs.
